An Invitation to ICALEPCS 2005

Dear Colleagues,

ICALEPCS 2005, the tenth International Conference on Accelerator and Large Experimental Physics Control Systems, will be held the 10-14 October 2005, Geneva, Switzerland.

We are pleased to invite all those involved worldwide in the field of controls and having an interest in the challenging aspects of Experimental Physics Control Systems, i.e. control systems for sophisticated facilities such as particle accelerators, particle detectors, optical and radio telescopes, lasers and nuclear fusion facilities.

ICALEPCS is a series of biennial conferences that circulate around the world. It happens in Europe every six years, and we therefore would like to make a special appeal to our European colleagues to participate in this worldwide forum. It gives them a unique opportunity to hear about the latest developments, the latest technologies, to exchange experience and to discuss with experts in this field from world's major laboratories.

The organization of the conference is similar to that of previous ones, with plenary sessions on Monday and on every morning the other days, and parallel oral and poster sessions during the remainder of the week. An industrial exhibition will be held concurrently. Technical visits are planned on Sat. 15 Oct both to CERN and to the EPFL Center of research on plasmas.

Since its start in 1987, ICALEPCS saw its participation steadily growing reaching near to 400 participants and we thus anticipate a similar number at ICALEPCS 2005. For the success of this conference, you are encouraged to submit your abstracts before 29 April 2005 and to register before the 31 July.

The registration fee is fixed at 525 CHF; it covers your participation in all conference sessions and includes the welcome reception, the concert, the gala dinner, technical visits, refreshments at breaks and the CD-ROM proceedings. If payment is not performed before the 31 July, the fee is raised to 625 CHF and it is payable IN CASH at the Conference.

We look forward to welcoming you in Geneva.

Sincerely yours,

Co-Chairmen of ICALEPCS 2005
